When Minefield has Layers enabled on this Thinkpad T61 with XP SP3 it starts with an empty black screen. This can sometimes be fixed by resizing the window or opening a new one, but is not a guaranteed fix.
This is further complicated by starting up with the Profile Manager, which doesn't have a resizing capability.
Was Layers made a default choice for Minefield now? I didn't think Layers was going to get activated on XP - just Vista and Win7. I tried it once for laughs last week to see what would happen, but had these same graphical glitches, so I turned it off.
I use the Nightly Update Channel for my installation updates.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have a Thinkpad T61 with Intel Mobile 965
2.Pull down Minefield with Layers enabled
3.Start Minefield
Built from http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/36f5cf6b2d42
Actual Results:
Starts with black screen, but will respond to keyboard input
Expected Results:
Screen should be standard visible Mozilla chrome
I'll attach my DXDIAGS report to this next. I also ran and submitted a Graphbot test against this laptop.

Setting layers.accelerate-none to true fixes the browser window problem, but not the "Choose Profile" problem.

Setting layers.accelerate-all to false also fixes the browser window problem, but does not fix the "Choose Profile" problem.
Starting in Safe Mode does fix the "Choose Profile" problem.
