- Mozilla tries a lookup of your internal address using the OS domain resolver. You can control that if you use nslookup on the commandline (example: "nslookup privateserver" ) if that fails and just then it will use domain guessing :https://www.mozilla.org/docs/end-user/domain-guessing.html if that fails it will report an error message but with the ww and com added -> bug 66183 Domains without subdomain (for example www) and without TLD (.com as example) are working for me.
