Bug 306018 made the Check for Updates menuitem appear in the right place on Mac, so we need to change the text a bit. Per https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306018#c11, we can also not assume the label being updated.
Note: I'm actually leaning on that we should remove the text instead of special-case it for non-mac (maintenance is easier), but I remember you liked this part ;-)

Yes, I -hate- like this part right here. :-)
Reasoning: It's fine that we have an automatic update feature but I'd hate not to have the possibility to check manually any time I want. We should tell the user that that possibility exists.
