User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 SeaMonkey/2.0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 SeaMonkey/2.0.8 I got the popup window: Update Ready to Install Update: SeaMonkey 2.0.8 I clicked on Details. This brought me to: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0.8/ which said: > Content Encoding Error > > The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an > invalid or unsupported form of compression. > > The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an > invalid or unsupported form of compression. > > * Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. However, that page is fine in Safari! Then I clicked on "Restart SeaMonkey" ... it came up on the same page. HUNH??? This is the second or third time this error has occurred. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have 2.0.7 installed 2. update message receivd for 2.0.8 3. click on Details I have NOT tried this because I don't have the 2.0.7 (auto installs mean I have no previous versions).
Windows XP version SeaMonkey 2.0.7 Works fine for me.
Version: unspecified → SeaMonkey 2.0 Branch
PLease use shift+reload
(In reply to comment #2) > PLease use shift+reload Going to the page is just fine. It then reloads just fine. The bug is somewhere in the automatic upgrading software.
2010 Dec 09 Popup: [I can't copy/paste this! Please make ALL popup messages copy/pastable!] > Update Ready to install > > A security and stability update for SeaMonkey has been downloaded > and is ready to be installed. > > Update: SeaMonkey 2.0.11 Details > > The update ... [you didn't allow me to copy paste this!!!] > Resetart Later Restart SeaMonkey Click on "Details". It turned red. A seamonkey page pops up: > http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0.11/ > > Content Encoding Error > > The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an > invalid or unsupported form of compression. > > The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an > invalid or unsupported form of compression. > > * Please contact the website owners to inform them of this > problem. > > Try Again Clicking on "Try Again" gives the same error. Restart ... http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0.11/ and the same error! That page works in Safari Version 5.0.3 (6533.19.4). That page works in Firefox/3.6.12. Reload the page and it works.
(In reply to comment #2) > PLease use shift+reload That works, but is not a solution. The problem occurs on the popup page and clicking on 'Details'.
