Sometimes after a tab is closed, it doesn't go away. You can see it in Panorama, and even sometimes open it, but you can't close it. Ctrl-W doesn't make it close. Clicking on X in Panorama view doesn't make it close. It only goes away when you close Firefox. I had Colorful Tabs extension, and it modifies how tabs look, so I could actually see these ghost tabs (they are 1px wide, and normally you can't switch to them). I thought maybe it's a Colorful Tabs bug, but now I'm getting it even after I turned this extension off.
I haven't figured out a condition under which such tabs appear, but they always do after I use Firefox for a prolonged period of time. I don't use more than one Panorama group, but I do have 3 App Tabs, which might or might not have to do something with it.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Firefox normally. Open a bunch of tabs, close them, do all the tab stuff that a normal user would do (I'm pretty sure I don't do anything crazy with the tabs)
2. After some time, close most of the tabs so that their number is manageable.
3. Open Panorama (Tab Candy) and see if there are any extra tabs, unaccounted for.
4. Try to close these extra tabs, which is impossible. Try to switch to them, which may be possible, or may be not.
Actual Results:
One or several extra tabs may appear that are impossible to get rid of by natural means.
Expected Results:
There should be no tabs that are not visible in normal UI.

ghost tab is not in the tabs list
The width is 1px

It is not a duplicate of bug 585785.
The ghost tab has a width of 1px, but is not referenced in the list of tabs opened. It can be hovered with the mouse, there is a thumbnail shown, but if the ghost tab is dragged outside of the tabs bar, a new window is opened, but with an empty tab.
I have included a few snapshots to show the problem.

By hovering the mouse on the ghost tab, it's possible to pin it.
But there is no way to select, display or delete it

Bug 585785 doesn't seem to contradict this.

You mark this bug as a duplicate on the base of only one similitude.
The problem is not the width of the tab, the problem is that the tab cannot be removed !
So I still don't think it's a duplicate.
