Finding synonyms and anthonyms of bugs title words could be interresting in two cases at least :
1-Finding a bug : a search/autosearch (as the one on the step 1 of the new bug page) made on the same topic but with differents words. Ex.: activity throbber, circle throbber ; detach, tear off ; ...
2-Finding and reducing DUPLICATE bugs

Antonyms can be usefull as a same idea can be expressed as [idea]/[Not opposite-idea].

I think that this could be very usefull to EN non-native speakers, like me ;-)

Possible UI (after the core part of this bug is beeing implemented ; just my first tought, maybe not the final solution for this bug) :
- Case 1 : the search page a check box "Check for the same bug filled with other words".
- Case 2 : the new bug page could be improved by adding a bold "Find the same bug filled with other words" (and Dup/or not the search field in a new sub-step "Check for the same bug filled with other words").

For both cases, this feature need to have a way to show word-by-word witch synonyms/antonyms match. Then it could give a way to the user to add/disable (or maybe risky, delete) some matches.

To adress this, the Bugzilla core could link_(a web service?)/embedded/have addon open_source/free_software dictionnaries (I'll fill a core bug about that as soon as this bug turns NEW).

Not sure if that is a "Query/Bug list" component bug (as of case 1 is and case 2 and the shared word-by-words feature are about Component "Creating/Changing Bugs")

This doesn't block bug 298471, it's an exact duplicate of it.

But Bug 298471 do not mention anthonyms and is specific to the Keywords field.
This one is for synomyns and anthonyms and specific to the title.

The title could be "Add synonyms table, anthonyms table and populate the Keywords and Title fields", but I feel like table is a specific solution and that by implementing exactly this we will have to maintain these tables even if such "dictionnaries" exist arount the web (Web service, dictionnaries embedded in Fx spell checker, ...).

So, I would like to adapt the title/scope of Bug 298471 with "Add synonyms anthonyms features and populate the Keywords and Title fields (to help finding duplicates)" but I can't, so I (temporaly at least) reop this one, sorry :-(

The "(to help finding duplicates)" is for searching purpose of this bug in bugzilla. ;-)

You didn't read the bug carefully. Bug 298471 is about all aspects of a bug.

No, I've carefully read this bug, but (except if it comes from my languages skills) the title do not reflect that, and I think it's really important for a fast overview, comprehension of the scope and searching of this bug to avoid DUP. That's why in my comment I propose  a change to it's title to "Add synonyms
anthonyms features and populate the Keywords and Title fields (to help finding
duplicates)" and the DUP this bug.

I'm I wrong ? :-S

Hey Nicolas. To be fair, the description of bug 298471 was a little unclear--even I thought that your bug and that bug were different, until I read through it more carefully. I've fixed the summary of that bug now so that it's clearer that these are duplicates of each other. Your idea is good and worthwhile, though. :-)
