bug 449734 has landed. it was suggested there to preserve plugin state also for session restore, to which Mike Shaver replayed in #c22: "It may be desirable, but it's definitely a different bug than this one, and a much more challenging one: it requires cooperation from plugins to serialize and deserialize their state correctly, including references to DOM objects that will have new addresses in the new process." hence this bug.
