Triangles are clearly outlined in Firefox. Attached is a screen shot of this behavior.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run Chrome Experiment 'Pocket Full of Canvas'
2.In the list of effects click 'fire'
3.Notice the difference between Firefox and Chrome.

Does it make a difference when you disable Direct2D acceleration in Minefield?
Somewhat reduced testcase would be really useful.  This may just be anantialiasing issue, depending on how the testcase does the drawing.
bjacob, I see this on Mac, where I can assure you d2d is not an issue.  ;)
We need someone to take a look at this to figure out what we're doing differently.
