When you try to open a webadress that does not exist their is an Alert-dialog with the text: www.rubadub.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again. And while this dialog is open the CPU usage is 100%. Typical case of busy-waiting. This is on build (M18, 2000101815). As long as I can remember this have been the same in netscape and I have been using it since it was called mosaic (or some other spelling, english is not my language). ps. I tried to search for the bug but the search in bugzilla does not work. It have showed "Please stand by..." for 10 minutes now..
No problem with 2000111420 under NT. I tried several time and the CPU usage stays near 0%
But I use linux and it's only the unix version of mosaic/netscape/mozilla that I talk about (in the OS field of bugzilla I marked linux). I've seen it busy-wait in all version of netscape in both linux and solaris for as long as I can remember.
Yes I understood but I often try Linux (or other platform) bugs to see if it is only a linux bug or a bug that shows up across all OS.
This is a dupe. I try to find it
