1. uninstall Fennec
2. reinstall with the release candidate:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/candidates/4.0b1-candidates/
3. look at the desktop for the mobile device.

Expected: Firefox icon
Actual : icon is missing.

After rebooting the N900, the icon showed.
I think we used to call gtk-update-icon-cache in the post install script to avoid this problem

N900 had a bug that made this call fail to work anyway. I think PR1.2 was supposed to fix it.

I am tempted to WONTFIX this bug, since it is an OS bug.

by fail to work you mean that the install fails in the post install script? There are ways to work around that.
No, I mean "OS fails to work correctly when gtk-update-icon-cache is called"
Naoki - I am confused. What icon exactly is missing?
* Is it the icon of a shortcut you made on the desktop? (that should be removed when you uninstall)
* Is it the icon in the list of applications you can add to the desktop as a shortcut?
* Something else?
Ok, I just saw the screenshot and it's the list of installed apps

Closing this bug as WFM, I do see icon now.

There's another bug for the multilanguage not showing the branding of Firefox instead of Fennec.
