Tested on Linux build 200111514. Enter a "Member Name" and "Password". It doesn't have to match a real account. A dialog box pops up which says: The connection was refused when attempting to contact register.starwave.go.com. Clicking OK causes the padlock to blink yellow 3 times and then go red. On netscape 4.72 it displays the following security warning: Warning! You have requested an insecure document that was originally designated a secure document (the location has been redirected from a secure to an insecure document). The document and any information you send back could be observed by a third party while in transit. Note the above security warning only displays if you have entered a valid user name and password. Otherwise it displays an error message about Incorrect ID/Password Combination
Which version of PSM are you using?
The things reporter describes happen when you do not have psm installed. The error message you get from that (connection refused) is very bad. Also the clicking the lock or choosing 'personal security manager' from the tasks menu gives nothing but a javascript error.
marking invalid. Not a bug. Reporter, please reopen this if you still have problems after installing PSM from http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/psm/psm-mozilla/index.html

Installing the PSM fixed the above problem. However, I am still going to reopen this under a new title because of the misleading error message.

Stephen Rasku, thanks for the followup. In the future please do not 'morph' bugs. If the issue you reported has been resolved "Can't login to Virtual GM" then help us verify it and report any other problems as seperate bugs. The main reason is that if we have to reopen the bug because of a regression then the bug addressing two issues becomes confusing. Thanks for your help in testing Mozilla and reporting bugs. -Asa Setting Bug status to Verified Duplicate
