Could we explore the idea of either displaying the Find Bar in the bottom left atop of the Addon Bar rather than Above it or as a Doorhanger?

It subscribes to the UX goals of UI real-estate efficiency.

The argument for atop of the Addon Bar is that currently the left side of the Addon Bar is more of less empty by default, thus we could utilise that space by laying half a find bar over the top of it. The alternative is of course to display it as a Doorhanger. Though in the Doorhanger's current implementation, any attempt to interact with the page would see it dismissed.

For what it's worth, I moved things over to the bottom left side of the addon bar, so making this change would cover up a bunch of buttons for me.

Could we not contract the Addon Bar? There has to be a better option than using 50px of screen space?

It's been Unconfirmed for two months. That's two months of being ignored. As such I think I'm well within my rights to mark it WONTFIX. Especially when a perfectly made counter argument against the idea has been made.

No actually, you can't WONTFIX it, you aren't the module peer, so you don't have the right to make that decision. WONTFIX isn't "It's not going to be fixed". It is more like "This feature isn't where we want to head."

Well, I like this idea. I currently don't have an easy way to move the toolbarbuttons in my find bar to the addon-bar.

Making this block the current work being done on the Find Bar and marking WONTFIX as work has begun on moving the Find Bar to the top of the window.
