Steps to Reproduce:
1. Grab a nightly build from 10/11: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/2010-10-11-04-mozilla-central-android-r7/
2. Install and startup Fennec
3. Wait for the fennec update system notification to pop up

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
I should receive a fennec update system notification to download the 10/12 nightly build

On my Fennec I'm pretty sure I have yesterdays nightly. This morning it offered me the update to the current nightly and after downloading I tapped the notification to install it, at this point I got a black screen, no package installer or anything. I can switch back to home and then tap Fennec and just get the black screen again. Fennec does not show up in the list of running applications either.

I had to kill the Fennec process from the shell then reopening it applied the update which worked

I am unable to reproduce the problem. I changed the app.update.interval pref to make it check earlier, got the notification as expected, initiated the update, which was downloaded and installed correctly.

Yeah, this is working for me today when updating from the 9/12 build to 9/13. Dave, is this working for you today?

b) there is no 10/13 nightly on m-c...

You shouldn't get offered an update form 10/12 to 10/12. Seems like there's been some confusion as to what exactly the bug is here. Aakash, can you spell that out and close this if there isn't actually something wrong.

i got a nightly build yesterday (or the day before).  if this is still busted, please open it up.
