Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 ID:20100914123505 Flash version: square p2 32 bit linux 092710 (LNX 10,2,161,23) At the start of the flash game Ghostscape 2, it asks you to enter a name. Selecting the text field and typing does nothing, but pasting with Ctrl-V does work. Tested with both normal mode and safe-mode.
This seems like a regression. Typing into flash components works in 3.6.13 but not in 4.0beta 7 and 4.0beta 8 candidate. So basically I cannot type but I can still paste stuff by doing ctrl+V into flash text boxes.
I can confirm a problem on Linux, not Windows.

Interestingly, the backspace and arrow keys function as expected. Regular letter keys seem to behave like the right arrow.
I have the exact same problem using Google Chrome, so it looks like it's problem with the plugin itself.
I still see this. I saw this today on the bankofamerica.com website. STR: 1. Login to BOFA 2. Click on Transfers 3. Click on Add Recepient 4. On the page that opens, there will be an "Authenticate" box at the bottom of the page. That is a flash component. Actual Result: I cannot type into that. So basically I cannot move ahead with my transaction Expected Result: I should be able to type into that box. The flash version is 10.1.53.64

It works for me now using the latest flash - 10.2.152.33 @Matthew Cline - Can you please verify this at your end and let us know if you still encounter this?
When I tried downloading the latest flash player for 32 bit Linux, I got version 10.2.152.27, which still has the problem when used with Firefox 3.6.15. The same problem exists in the latest Google Chrome beta with the built-in 10.2.154.18 version of Flash.
I've found that Flash Player 10.1.53.64 when used with Firefox versions 5.x and newer on the Mac (I haven't tested on Windows yet) I can confirm this bug. I tested with the following versions of Firefox for Mac with the results below: v3.6.13 = GOOD v5.0.1 = BAD v7.0.1 = BAD v8.0 = BAD Again, this seems to be the case with only Flash Player version 10.1.53.64.
I used this url as my test candidate, though pretty much any will work as long as it has a textfield in flash: http://activetuts.s3.amazonaws.com/tuts/157_displaySearchTerms/preview/preview.html
Still an issue using the STR in comment 0 on Nightly 21.0a1 2013-02-11, Ubuntu 12.04 x86, Flash 11.2r202. Would it make any sense now to find a regression range before FF 4 ?
(In reply to Paul Silaghi [QA] from comment #10) > Would it make any sense now to find a regression range before FF 4 ? If this is possible without major efforts, yes please. Otherwise this probably needs a closer look into what happens here anyway.

> > Would it make any sense now to find a regression range before FF 4 ? I've tried to find a regression range, but all nightly builds existing on FTP, before the one mentioned in comment 1 are bad. As long as on Latest Nightly 24 the problem is still present, I can say this is not a regression, it appeared from the begining of FF.
Investigations done on Ubuntu 13.04 x86
(In reply to Matt Torbin from comment #8) > v3.6.13 = GOOD I agree with comment 12. This is no longer valid for Flash 11.2 (Ubuntu). FF 3.6.13 is also bad, on FF 1.0 and 2.0 I couldn't manage to make FF recognize Flash at all.
Sounds like a bug with a game no with a browser. Anyway updating both to the latest versions is most popular and effective, as I made sure with http://essaywriting.center having the same issue.
Resolving as wont fix, plugin support deprecated in Firefox 85.
