Details

When a web app starts, we display a blank page before the content starts to display. This can be too long and confusing for the user.

We could display some kind of splash screen or popup to let the user know that something is actually happening.

Sounds good in principle. You probably want a design here :)  Will come back to this, but yes - good idea.
