The date for "Today" is highlighted incorrectly, and therefore shown incorrectly with the "Today" button (the one that actually reads "Today"), in main calendar pane, but displayed correct in mini-view and "today pane".

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100928 Firefox/3.6.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.9) Gecko/20100928 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1.4 When I changed my timezone from the default selection within thunderbird and lightning 1.0b2, the time is shown correctly, but tomorrow's date is highlighted in blue as "today's" date. Also, clicking the Today button within the main calendar pane (the button that reads "Today") takes me to the highlighted date. This is true for any view within that pane, be it day, week, multi-week, or month. However, in the mini-calendar pane, and the Today Pane, it's displayed correctly (Fri. 15th Oct, 2010), and the "today" button within those panes (the circular icon) takes me to the correct date. Running the "Date()" command also finds the right date from the error console. In order to clarify what I mean, here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/6g2YN.jpg Please note the highlighted date (the 15th) in the mini-calendar, and the blue highlight on the 16th in the main menu. I have also tried setting the timezone in the prefs.js file. Anything but "floating" results in the above error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set timezone via preferences (or change the value in prefs.js from "floating") 2. restart thunderbird, go to main calendar view and hit "Today". Actual Results: Tomorrow's date is highlighted as today for me, within the main calendar pane, but the times within the day are displayed correctly for my timezone (i.e. events happening at 8:30 are listed at 8:30). Also, this highlighted day is treated as "today" for all views within that pane (but not the mini-calendar or Today Pane). Expected Results: The "today" date within the calendar view should be the same as the other Panes, and be found via the Today button. I've supplied a link to a screenshot about in the details section, and I think that about covers it for additional information. Thunderbird 3.1.4, Lightning 1.0b2, 64bit system. Lightning was installed following the link on the Lightning add-on page. I realize this isn't necessarily an "official" release, but the error seems to occur for a 32bit Ubuntu installation as well (admittedly with an old Lightning version): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/510131 Also, I gather from the issue that the mini-calendar and the main calendar views use different functions for calculation the current date. I can't see a reason for this, but if separate functions are required, perhaps compare the two functions for discrepancies? Since the other "Today" buttons work, and one should generally know the current date, I won't list this as "Major" though it is an inconvenience for a calendar program.
Version: unspecified → Lightning 1.0b2
I noticed today that the correct date is displayed in all locations, leading me to think it has to do with the time of day (the above occurred around 10:30pm/11pm Berlin time). I will update this post if I see the issue arise again around this time.
I ran into the same problem, and finally figured out (after reading this post) that it has to do with Lightning's internal time zone setting. I had changed timezones on in the main Windows Time and Date setting, but Lightning seems not to take this information from Windows. One has to separately select/change the timezone in Lightning options. This needs to be fixed.

Is this still seen in a current version?

No, This WFM in 116.0b7 despite trying various timezones.
