Details
Given the convenience and ease of writing plugins for search engines, having the choose-one-of-these-engines-list only in the ``Preferences'' menu seems cumbersome. Implementing some sort of availability to choose engine at search time would be Smart, Sweet and Custiomizable ( I might Service Mark that one day :)

I must say I am truly emberassed. Really emberassed. It has come to my attention that the very thing I was moaning about is as easy as Search->My search tab->Advanced. So feel free to mock me :o/ But nonetheless, the reason that I didn't find it was that I expected this setting to appear in the preferences panel under 'Internet Search'. Would it be an idea to implement this?

Don't be embarrassed, it's a silly design which made it hard for you to find the option. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 44724 ***
