Details

When typing a new URI into the "navigation bar", the browser appears to set about connecting to and loading the new page as requested. When the loading has completed (indicated by the stopped throbber and status bar on the bottom), the new page is not shown, but the same page that I was trying to leave. After this happens, if I do navigate to a different site and then try to access this "failed" URL again, it will pull up the wrong page from the cache, but display the correction URL in the location bar. Example: I start the Mozilla and sit at the Mozilla.org page. I type in something like www.slashdot.org, the throbber and status bar move, and it "seems" to be taking the appropriate amount of time as if it was really loading this new page. When the "loading" is complete, though, it still displays the Mozilla.org page. If I do surf to another page (as this problem seems intermittent), and then type www.slashdot.org, it then proceeds to display Mozilla.org again, but shows www.slashdot.org as the current location.
WFM on 2000111704 NT4. What is your build number? Do you use any proxies?
My about page shows it as being: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; m18) Gecko/20001113 (the titlebar specifically stating: {Build ID: 2000111322} I have been using JunkBuster as my "proxy" (configured manually on port 8000 of localhost), but I believe this problem has occured both with and without Junkbuster in-line, though not 100% sure.
If this happens only if you are using Junkbuster as a proxy, it would be a duplicate of bug 38488. BTW, please have a look at the bug writing guidelines and consider using the Bugzilla Helper for entering bugs. Thanks for testing Mozilla!
Oops, of course I mean the bug _reporting_ guidelines. Sorry! =%-/
Reporter - For a workaround with Junkbuster: See comment by Gervase Markham dated 2000-05-19 05:39 in bug 38488 If that setting seems to cure this bug, it's a dup.
