Provide more than 1 (but not more than 2) locale download options on Firefox download pages. This would be opt-in based on feedback from the l10n leaders and community as well as locale usage data. Explanation: After feedback over the years from users in Asia who struggle to find the version of Firefox they want (vs. what we by default provide) we can see that in at least these countries (and probably others around the globe) demand for the en-US Firefox is significant, in countries where we by default provide a different locale to the user. Indonesia: 80% using en-US, 17% using Indonesian (default download is Indonesian) Korea: 60% using Korean, 29% using en-US Vietnam: 59% using en-US, 39% using Vietnamese (default download is Vietnamese) Thailand: 55% using en-US; 39% using Thai (default download is Thai) (data from Mozilla's Metrics site) What I'm proposing is that for certain locales, and only with support from the communities in those areas, we provide two download links from our download pages- one for the locale that is normally associated with that country, and one for en-US (or other locale if appropriate). I realize that having more than 1 option for download causes download rates to drop, and so I don't make this proposal lightly. But, for Indonesia (as an example), if we by default show the Bahasa Indonesia download page to all downloaders from Indonesia, and yet 80% of them would rather use the en-US build, I think providing this option would be a big win for those users. Note, I'm not talking for all markets, only for a set of markets that we determine, based on whatever metric is agreed upon, where there is a significant amount of a second locale being used. The implementation is obviously critical such that it is unambiguous as to what the user is choosing.
Lee, let's discuss this one. This will be something to work on after you've cleared your way through the current batch of redesign pages.
John, can you please re-evaluate this bug?
Gen, thanks for the reminder. Lee, when could you fit this into your schedule? (Laura/Tara - fyi)

Laura- can we discuss this as it's been a while since I filed the bug and I want to re-confirm my assumptions before we make any changes.
