As part of the redesign process, here are the design files for the new About page: http://www.intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/about_01.jpg http://www.intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/PSD/about_01.psd General content note that doesn't affect anything here: we have longer-term plans to more completely remake this page (and this section). But given the scope of everything we're trying to do, for now we're just reskinning what we already have. Doesn't change anything for this particular bug, but wanted to mention it for context.
This page is built on the nova branch in r76885. Ready for review/QA.
Content looks great to me.
mozilla.com/en-US/about/ has a link to Spread the Word which is missing on the new design
(In reply to comment #3) > mozilla.com/en-US/about/ has a link to Spread the Word which is missing on the > new design Good catch Raymond, you're absolutely right. Lee, could you try mocking this up as a sidebar promo?
My concern is that the sidebar promo looks a lot like the blurbs in the main section of the page, b/c they both have that illustration style with a short bit of text beneath. Feels like we should differentiate them more somehow...
I see what you mean. I made the hand a bit smaller and styled the promo similar to the one we used on the Mobile Get Involved page yesterday. I think this looks more separated from the main content now. http://www.intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/about_02.jpg
Yeah, that's perfect. Can you post the PSD here for Steven? Thanks for the edits!
Spread the Word promo added to sidebar in r77018. We've noticed during implementation that the italic-Georgia/all-caps-MetaBlack headlines show up in a few different color configurations: all black, black/blue, and all blue. Is this intentional and is there a logic behind which combination is used where? As the blue is the same as the link color, I wonder if we should avoid that and stick to black for those headings?
Hey Lee, could you weigh in on comment #10? Would be a good thing to make sure everyone is clear on.
For consistency, I think the "default" for the global CSS could be: Headers: on white bg - black/black on blue field(side column) - blue/blue that look better in some cases - black/blue There may be exceptions to this when it just "looks better" to use the black/blue combo, but for the most part, this is what we can start with.

Am reopening this bug so we can make a copy change to the header & subhead. Here's the new text: We're Building A BETTER INTERNET The Firefox browser is created by Mozilla, a non-profit organization whose _mission_ is to promote openness, innovation and opportunity on the Web. (_mission_ can link to http://www.mozilla.org/about/mission.html) Thanks!
