Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101027 Firefox/4.0b8pre This is a spin off from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=505016#c11 and 12. According to chofmann's numbers this is running at about 255 crashes per day on 4.0b6, 7-8 per day on trunk. The crash reporter didn't come up. Instead it was caught by the Apple problem reporter. The crash happened suddenly while I was scrolling a simple page with images. I had about 30 tabs open. I don't know if this belongs in xpcom or xpconnect.
here is a link to the crashes that do make it past the apple crash reporter and get sent to socorro http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/list?product=Firefox&query_search=signature&query_type=contains&query=_purecall%20|%20nsXPCWrappedJS%3A%3AQueryInterface%28nsID%20const%26%2C%20void**%29&date=10%2F28%2F2010%2011%3A39%3A56&range_value=1&range_unit=weeks&hang_type=any&process_type=any&plugin_field=&plugin_query_type=&plugin_query=&do_query=1&admin=&signature=_purecall%20|%20nsXPCWrappedJS%3A%3AQueryInterface%28nsID%20const%26%2C%20void**%29 It appears to have shown up right around the time beta 5 and 6 started to gain more testers on sept 15 in builds from 4.0b5 2010083108 b6 adu growth curve. 20100914 288 20100915 33,923 20100916 218,467 20100917 337,427 _purecall...nsXPCWrappedJS::QueryInterface.nsID.const.,.void... growth date total breakdown by build crashes count build, count build, ... 20100912 8 6 4.0b52010083108, 1 3.5.122010082411, 1 3.5.112010070102, 20100913 13 4.0b52010083108 13 , 20100914 10 9 4.0b52010083108, 1 4.0b42010081813, 20100915 51 35 4.0b52010083108, 11 4.0b62010091408, 3 4.0b42010081813, 2 4.0b32010080519, 20100916 72 40 4.0b52010083108, 25 4.0b62010091408, 5 4.0b42010081813, 2 4.0b32010080519, 20100917 38 15 4.0b52010083108, 9 4.0b62010091408, 9 4.0b42010081813, 4 4.0b32010080519, 1 3.5.122010082411, 20100918 30 15 4.0b52010083108, 7 4.0b62010091408, 5 4.0b32010080519, 3 4.0b42010081813, 20100919 45 21 4.0b52010083108, 12 4.0b62010091408, 8 4.0b42010081813, 3 4.0b32010080519, 1 3.5.132010091413, 20100920 57 25 4.0b62010091408, 18 4.0b52010083108, 11 4.0b42010081813, 2 4.0b32010080519, 1 3.62010011514, 20100921 35 15 4.0b62010091408, 11 4.0b52010083108, 6 4.0b42010081813, 1 4.0b7pre2010092104, 1 4.0b32010080519, 1 3.5.132010091413, buy the end of the month this signature was over 150 crashes and its continued to grow as more beta testers get added. 20100930 155 133 4.0b62010091408, 14 4.0b52010083108, 2 4.0b7pre2010093004, 2 4.0b42010081813, 2 3.5.132010091413, 1 4.0b42010081714, 1 4.0b32010080519, ... 20101026 274 255 4.0b62010091408, 4 4.0b42010081813, 3 4.0b8pre2010102604, 3 4.0b8pre2010102504, 3 4.0b52010083108, 2 4.0b32010080519, 1 4.0b8pre2010102404, 1 4.0b8pre2010102304, 1 4.0b8pre2010102204, 1 4.0b8pre2010101904, pretty signficant regression on trunk starting around

This looks like it's now only 4 crashes in the last 2 weeks in beta7 and beta8pre, and another 14 crashes if you count the ones where the signature is only nsXPCWrappedJS::QueryInterface(nsID const&, void**). Not blocking based on that, but we obviously need to keep an eye on this one.

Crash Signature: [@ _purecall | nsXPCWrappedJS::QueryInterface(nsID const&, void**) ]
Low volume of crashes over the past 4 weeks, all in 3.6 or 4.0. Resolving this one as works for me.
