Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile WFM - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0E) ID:20101026210630
Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue? Have you tried safe mode or a new profile?
I can reproduce this bug (as can all my colleagues). I have tried running in safe mode and creating a new profile and the bug persists. (I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.5 and FF 3.6.13) WORK-AROUND The work-around is that you can hold down Command+Left-click (the work-around for older one-button mac mice) and the menu will appear. It just won't appear when you Right-Click. I work on a web application where we have a right-click menu as well, and it works on all browsers and platforms except MAC OSX with Firefox. I think I've ready this bug was introduced in FF 3.5, but I cannot confirm. I know the developers at Google are aware of the issue as well. See this lengthy discussion: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/maps/thread?tid=713793380043a635&hl=en
Here's a link to our development site where we have right-click implemented as well: http://hgwdev.cse.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTracks There you "should" be able to right-click on any of the horizontal bars, lines or block in the genome browser view there and a menu will show (actually you can click almost anwhere in the graphic). It works in all other browsers and platform combination we've tried, except FF on Mac OSX.
the testcase from comment #4 is wfm with Seamonkey trunk and FF4.0b7 on win32 open preferences -> content -> Javascript/advanced and check that "disable or replace context menus" is checked/enabled Tomcat: Sorry i know that this is outside of your job but could you do me a favor and test this on OS X ? We have no triager with OS X :-(
Yeah, this is a MacOSX+FF specific issue... Yes, the "disable or replace context menus" is checked/enabled in my browser (FF 3.6.13). Still doesn't work.
I just tried it on MacOSX + FF 3.5.16 and has the same issue, the workaround works. Then tried on FF4.0b7 and the bug is still there, but now the workaround (CNTL+Left-Click) doesn't seem to work either.
On the latest Minefield on Mac 10.6, right mouse pad click doesn't work for me, but ctrl-left click works for me. When was the last build where this worked?
Confirmed by tchung in #qa on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20101220 Firefox/4.0b9pre Found a dupe - Bug 426643
