Unless the Mozilla Messaging folks object (they're copied), the privacy policy link from the footer on http://www.mozillamessaging.com that currently goes to: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/about/privacy-policy/ should be redirected to http://www.mozilla.org/about/policies/privacy-policy.html and the page at http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/about/privacy-policy/ should be taken down. Legal would like the privacy policy that governs the Mozilla Messaging website to be the same policy that governs the mozilla.com and mozilla.org websites. It is a better practice to have fewer privacy policies and will be easier to manage updating if there's just one policy. This will also make more sense when/if we move to housing almost everything at mozilla.org. I'm in the process of making some updates to the websites privacy policy, so I'll add a note that it covers Mozilla Messaging as well. MM folks - Please speak up if you have any objections or concerns.
I can't help but notice that the privacy policy link from the footer of http://www.mozilla.com/ goes to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/privacy-policy.html which contains mostly the same text (I didn't check it all), but with site-specific styling. Perhaps Mozilla Messaging should do something similar, instead of taking down our page entirely? I'm also not sure where we would post the privacy policies for Thunderbird and Raindrop under this new scheme. Thanks, Blake.

There are currently two copies of the same websites privacy policy posted, one on mozilla.com and the other on mozilla.org. The plan is to post the updated version only on mozilla.org and have the link from the mozilla.com footer point there. We are also working on a new privacy center where all our privacy stuff will be aggregated. We may end up having all the privacy policy links point there, but we haven't yet thought that through. On where to post the Thunderbird Privacy Policy, how about http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/privacy? I don't know much about Raindrop. It's currently a Labs project, isn't it?
I'm ok w/ liz' suggestion w.r.t. the MoMo website privacy policy. Raindrop isn't a live service, so doesn't have a privacy policy at this point. I'm fine w/ liz's suggestion of the location for the privacy policy for TB.
Thanks David
Now that mozillamessaging.com has moved to mozilla.org, I believe this is no longer needed.
