User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101107 Firefox/4.0b8pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101107 Firefox/4.0b8pre Firefox 4 gets stuck when editing Google documents. Firefox 4 may get stuck when having Google documents open. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new Google Docs Document (The button next to "Upload...") 2. Find 50 pages of text (anything will do) 3. Past that into that Google Docs Document Actual Results: Firefox gets stuck. After some time it generates an unresponsive script error. Clicking continue will keep giving you unresponsive script errors. Expected Results: Code is quickly pasted into the Google document without any unresponsive script errors. Firefox may simply get stuck when having a google document open - it will keep generating unresponsive script errors. The only thing to do is to kill off firefox.exe

This needs help from the QA folks to reproduce, but from comment 0 this shouldn't be editor related.

>After some time it generates an unresponsive script error. Which script (that is part of the error message) ? Does it make a difference if you run Firefox in the Firefox safemode ? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Just got this in safe mode, Script: https://docs.google.com/document/static/client/js/1272143008-kix_main_i18n_kix_core.js:20 The larger the document the more such errors you are going to get. This is not the only one that happens. I did manage to paste the text and get the document to save itself this time (it took pressing continue a few times). Firefox generates unresponsive script errors when, 1. Document auto-saves itself. 2. I delete large chunk of text. 3. I past a large chunk of text. By large I mean 258k chars (136 pages of XML).
Summary: FF4: stuck editing Google docs. → FF4: stuck editing Google docs and unresponsive script
#2+3 (large XML) sounds like duplicate. but, can you reproduce this with current firefox 4.0 beta?

I can repro the Pasting Case on Beta 11, but it's WFM (i.e. no Slow Script Warning + almost on par Speed comparing to Google Chrome 11.0.672.0) on http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/1da3405c74fd & http://hg.mozilla.org/tracemonkey/rev/a8926981d452. However, on http://hg.mozilla.org/tracemonkey/rev/a8926981d452 (and the MC Build) I get a Slow Script Warning when undoing the Paste using Google Docs built-in Edit Menuitem: Script: https://docs.google.com/static/document/client/js/249076835-v2-kix_main_i18n_kix_core.js:215 If I choose "Do not ask again" in the Dialog and let the Script continue, it takes Minutes before Undo-Action, whereas in Chrome it's Seconds (like in the Paste Case). No Idea if it's useful to attach a WinDGB Log in these Cases of Bugs since every Break results in a different Stacktrace (JS/GC Land everytime though).

I am a newby, and don't understand everything here, but I am willing to try anything!!! Been working on a fix for my disabled javascript, even though googling every question I can possibly think of to fix the problem...following instructions to a 'T', says enabled...even added exceptions to be allowed for my website. Still nothing is working. After viewing the form I just filled out...must not be doing it correctly, but I am running firefox 4, on a vista...And my vote is that it is in extremely 'High Importance"!!! After working on this fix for a month...I greatly need help!!! Thank you so much!!!!
This still happens (the script errors) I opened the Untitled Document with 258k chars. A few observations, Firefox 8.0a memory usage: 400MB Firefox does not idle, 8-16% CPU 30-40% CPU when memory is bloating up to ~400MB range 20-30% CPU simple moving cursor around the page (no clicks or anything!) Closing the tab made the memory go to ~460 then drop to ~215 (2 tabs left) After reloading Firefox with the 2 tabs (google docs - Homapage && 610274), Firefox memory usage is ~98MB. Chrome 12 memory usage: ~160MB Chrome also takes forever to CTRL-X, but no unresponcive script errors and other tabs work just fine. It took about ~5 minutes to CTRL-X though.
Confirmed the unresponsive script errors on pasting large portions of text (~100 pages) into a google doc. Eventually after a few minutes, the text will be pasted, and Firefox will no longer be hung. Confirmed the hang as well when deleting large portions of text (~100 pages) from a google doc. Firefox has been hung for more than 15 minutes as of right now. Firefox process details: CPU Usage: ~50% Memory: 977,812 KB
