We always meant to have a way to upload an image or a video while editing/writing an article. The way things are set up in Kitsune, you either have to do all of your uploading before writing/editing or you have to leave the page, go to the media gallery to upload and then go back to the article to insert it. 

If we add an insert media button and workflow to the insert media modal dialog, we can upload and insert all in one series of steps (see attachment).

The steps to insert a piece of media would be:
1. Click the insert media button on the toolbar
2. Click upload media in the media gallery modal dialog
3. Upload the file
4. Return to the gallery modal dialog with the just uploaded file show in view, select it and click Insert media.

Yep, at some point we implemented this.
