User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101118 Firefox/4.0b8pre It is impossible to install any version of Moonlight on Firefox 4. The compatibility of the "standard" version of the plugin http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/download.aspx stops to Firefox 3.6.* For the "preview" version http://go-mono.com/moonlight/prerelease.aspx the compatibility stops to 3.7 Disabling the extension compatibility check makes the it installable, but the associated plugin does not work. Reproducible: Always
Version: unspecified → Trunk
That needs to be fixed by the authors of the add-on. It's them who have set the max version to 3.6.*, not Mozilla. After testing they can decide to change that, or create a new version if necessary. 3.7 doesn't exists anymore, it's now Firefox 4.0 (3.7 was the beta 1)

I do not agree with your point of view. If the idea was to let non-technical users test all the Firefox Betas, I think they should have a functional set of plugins. I'm not saying that it's up to Mozilla to solve the problem, but I do not have the necessary contacts and/or authority to talk to the GNOME guys. Have a nice day.
Mozilla has no control about what other developers do. Especially when the add-on is not stored on the standard download location <https://addons.mozilla.org/> where there's some control (add-ons are checked before they're added to the list). All developers have been notified that a new version is coming, and they're probably working on a new version right now.
Hey Jo, is there a list of Add-ons tho whose authors we are reaching out for the beta period?
All of them which are registered on addons.mozilla.org I think (is a working email address mandatory ?). But developers which are not on that website (like go-mono) would not receive anything, and would need to subscribe themselves to a mailing list, or visit the developers website regularly or something. I'm pretty sure that Mono is working on newer versions, even though their website only claims compatibility with 3.5
Thanks for the info, Jo
