I don't know whether my notebook really uses hardware acceleration or not (don't know how to find out), however it's activated in the options.
Problem (so far only encountered) on YouTube:
If you watch a video and scroll down the YouTube page while watching that video, the video window overlaps the Firefox bars (menue bar etc.)
