User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101202 Firefox/4.0b8pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101202 Firefox/4.0b8pre
The text of Minefield button looks nice, but sometimes the text is rendered in a crowded way then after some steps this changes back to the nice text. At this moment on mouse hover the size of the button changes back to fit the nice text.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
This bug happens sporadically when just browsing the web, but I've found one repro:
1. Maximize Minefield on Windows 7.
Then repeat these steps about 20 times!
1.1 Press Win+Down Arrow to Restore the non-maximized state
1.2 Press Win+Up Arrow to maximize it
2. Now the text is shown crowded
Then repeat these steps about 10 times!
2.1 Press Win+D to show Desktop
2.2 Press Win+D to show the maximized Minefield
3. Now the text is shown nice again, but the button is wider
4. Hover over the Minefield button, then its width changes
Actual Results:
Changing Minefield button
Expected Results:
Same Minefield button

No, it happens using the default Windows 7 Aero theme.
But turning on ClearType in Control Panel>Display makes the problem disappear! It always shows "Nice text".
But turning off ClearType, when opening Minefield it show the "Crowded text". Then pressing Win+d a lot makes it nice, then Win+up/down makes it crowded. There must be some kind of timing as well, because it does not really matter how often, but rather how long I am pressing the keys which makes the transition.

Krisztian, this bug has been duped against bug 594889, where all the work will happen to fix that. There is no need to upload more attachments.

I can reproduce it with ClearType On as well. I added and renamed the attachments.
This is related to bug 594889, but not the same. That bug is about the way text is rendered (ClearType On or Off -> nice or crowded).
This is the bug that describes that this text rendering can change, then on mouse hover the width of the Firefox button adjusts itself. I am changing this to Unconfirmed if you don't mind.
