If updates have been found for add-ons, an update button appears now in a separate line above the usual list view buttons. Those mentioned buttons are shifted to the left now. This behavior has been introduced with the final ui patch on bug 601022.

Asking for blocking, because it's highly visible when the add-ons manager is open with any list view selected.

I don't remember changing anything in bug 601022 that would cause this - so don't think its a regression (not from 601022, at least).
