We are open to creative language use.  My vote is for OCAML or Malbolge.

Key features required:
- be able to access all engines (if it is "just bookmarks" or whatever, that's no good)
- be able to, obviously, add and delete content
- I am imagining output to be able to be YAML, but I am not married to this idea if you have a better plan

Where did we get with this?  There's crossweave and the python client, both can be automated to do functional tests..
