Please dismiss tab-modal prompts when clicking anywhere outside the prompts, at least for the non-input informational prompts.

Reproducible: Always
Blocks: 59314
Version: unspecified → Trunk
I can see this causing a lot of missed information due to an intentional click on a page element happening just after the prompt appears but before you can stop yourself clicking in time to read the text of it.
I would not like this one bit, for the reasons Mardeg gives.
It might also be a problem later, if the user accidentally clicks somewhere while pondering the alert().

I'm not sure alerts should be that easy to dismiss. Neither Chromium nor Opera do it anyway.
3 or 7 seconds to wait? Just don't like to aim at the OK button.
An arbitrary delay with no visible sign of the change in responsiveness to clicks is I think inviting an accessibility nightmare.

OK button is clickable at anytime. What's the nightmare?
I also don't think the prompts should work this way. We have click-outside-to-dismiss notifications now (eg, for geolocation), but that's only because they're designed so there's a way to reopen the dialog. That isn't possible for these dialogs.

Actually, upon further reflection, I think we should at give some more thought to this (after Firefox 4), even if the decision is still to not do this.

We have heard complaints about the click-to-dismiss doorhangers and even those have a way to reopen. Let's close this as wontfix as it is too easy to accidentally dismiss and there isn't a way to retrigger these.
