This bug isnt about the duplicate entries of firefox in the screenshot (known to have beta 2 and beta 3 co-existing), but instead to remove the AppID name shown below the Firefox title.
saying org.mozilla.firefox tells the user nothing.
* See screenshot
Repro:
1) install Fennec 4 beta 2. install fennec 4 beta 3
2) launch a URL to trigger the app launcher (eg. i tried to open Android browser and had it not set to default)
3) Verify the AppID name listed below firefox entries
Expected:
- remove the AppID name below Firefox entries
Actual:
- AppID name exists

if you remove one of the installs it goes away, right? Also if you install a fennec nightly this doesn't happen, right?

actually, no it doesnt. i uninstalled beta 2, and then relaunched the app launcher. It still shows the two entries in the launcher, even though beta 2 is nowhere else in my system

as for the nightly, i am unable to install a beta 3 build anyway cause it wont let you complete installation. Signing issue maybe?

ah, rebooting cleared out the cached image. the appID goes away only left with one Firefox instance.

Verified worksforme. I can verify that after uninstalling Firefox 2.0b2 the the AppID name of the remaining one disappears in the URL launcher of the stock Android browser.

Btw, it seems to me, this bug is invalid. It seems like the Android system is doing this, to be able to distinguish between 2 different installed applications with the same name.
