Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20101228 Thunderbird/3.3a2pre; Lightning 1.1a1pre from 28 Dec. 2010
I am accessing 7 Gmail calendars via CalDAV.
In addition I am accessing 1 ICS calendar (with German public holidays) also from Gmail:
https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/de.german%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
(I am using ICS for public holidays because I cannot access them via CalDAV.)
Problem:
Whenever I activate the ICS calendar (= tick the ICS calendar's check box in Lightning), Lightning stops working, i. e. I still can see the current view (e. g. the current 4 weeks), but I cannot scroll up or down through Lightning any more in order to see the previous/next week.
So I had to un-tick the ICS calendar and restart Lightning (with CalDAV calendars activated only).
Then I can scroll through Ligtning again.
Reproducible: Always

Lightning 1.1a1pre are very broken currently. Does the same problem exists using the latest nightly builds of Lightning 1.0b3pre with Thunderbird 3.1? Did you check Tools > Error Console for calendar related error messages?
I'll attach 2 files:
1.) error console w/o ICS
2.) error console with ICS activated.
PS: I don't have TB 3.1 available anymore :-(
I just did an upgrade to TB 3.3 some hours ago.
So I can't test it TB 3.1. Sorry for that.

Based on the error messages it could be the same as Bug 591744.
I also encountered the problem as discribed in bug 591744.
I am always "fixing" this by just re-installing Lightning.
Then it works again for a while - until it brakes again.
But I am not sure if bug 591744 is the same as my bug here...
Update:
The phenomenon with ICS-calendars happens independent from CalDAV.
I just did a test on another computer where I created some local calendars + one ICS-calendar:
As soon as I added and activated the ICS calendar, Lightning broke.
After de-activating the ICS calendar and restarting Thunderbird, Lightning worked again.
So it seems to be a pure problem with ICS.
(I'll update bug summary accordingly.)
Summary: ICS calendars and CalDAV calendars cannot be used together → ICS calendars are breaking Lightning

My ICS calendars are still very intermittent, especially when trying to read more than one. They keep going into read only mode or display a warning triangle, I have to keep restarting.
