User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b8) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b8) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b8 I installed http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0b8/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-4.0b8.tar.bz2 on "Debian Linux" http://ftp.ie.debian.org/debian-cd-daily/daily.old/i386/iso-cd/debian-squeeze-di-beta2-i386-businesscard.iso (that is "Sid Beta / Unstable Daily"). # uname -a Linux debian 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Fri Dec 10 16:12:40 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux The "Plug-in Check Page" at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ is incorrect for Linux and FF 4.0b8 when check the "Adobe Reader". I have a 'fresh OS (and Browser) install'. The PiC Page says I have: " Adobe Reader 9.4 The Adobe Reader plugin is used to enable viewing of PDF and FDF files from within the browser. Vulnerable (more info: https://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-28.html) " Indeed when I run "Adobe Acrobat" separately the [Help][About] says I have "9.4". There are various Advisories that I can Google ( http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/153844/ ) but I do not see one for "Debian Linux". I did a bit of searching for this BUG and came up with this for a DIFFERENT Operating System https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/i386/acroread/9.4.1-1 which has a link for http://launchpadlibrarian.net/60857990/acroread_9.4.1-1_i386.deb . After installing "Ubuntu Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.4.1" on "Debian Linux" I can run the "Acrobat Reader" and it says I have 9.4.1 -- but the PiC Page still says it is 9.4 and offers an INCORRECT Url for the version of the Reader which the PiC Page takes issue with. PS: Please note that FF 4.0b8 does not seem to have a "Button" or "Menu Entry" to get to the URL http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ so you need to type it manually (or click it here on this Page). Thanks, Rob Reproducible: Always
Can you please set the preference plugin.expose_full_path (in about:config) to true, and then visit about:plugins ? That will tell you the complete path to the plugin instead of just the name. Maybe you have 2 plugins installed, and it is picking up the old one.

At the end of the Page "about:plugins" says this: ... Kev, I presume you can re-open this if I jumped the gun on your QA/Test. Please note: NONE of us seems to have actually used the CORRECT VERSION of Adobe's Reader on DEBIAN Linux and we are assuming based on UBUNTU (which is NOT the Operating System which this Bug was reported against).
