62306 - Forgets the POP password

The first time you check for mail, you get a "Enter password" prompt. If you
enter the password and then press the tab button to go down to the "Remember
password" button, Mozilla won't remember the password. However, if you enter the
password and then check the "Remember password" button *using the mouse*, it
works fine.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Make the "Enter password" promt appear, then press tab once and push the space
bar to check the "Remember password" button. Mozilla won't remember the password.

It looks like you reported this bug for Mozilla 0.6 which is a release from the
Netscape 6 branch that doesn't include the recent bugfixes for Mozilla, could
you please try to reproduce this with a recent nightly build.

It looks like there's some other known problems with mail in the current nightly
builds please check http://www.mozillazine.org/build_comments/ to find a good
quality recent build.

I see two scenarios in this bug.  The first scenario doesn't mention pushing the
space bar (which actually checks the box and is needed to activate saving of
password).  In your steps to reproduce scenario you state you press the space
bar to check the box, but that doesn't work either.
Using the commercial builds from 12-18-00 on win98 the second scenario works for
me.  After pressing the space bar, the box is checked and then I click <Enter>.
 I close the app, relaunch, open mail, select my POP account and click Get Msg.
 My new messages appear without giving a password.   Please try a more recent
build and let us know if you still see the problem.

Are you still seeing this problem on recent builds?  I just checked on
commercial 2000122910 build and it works for me.

marking this bug as verified worksforme.  Did not see any problems saving
password for pop on linux using commercial build 2001-01-10-08.
