I'm not sure what syntax limi was referring to, unless what he wanted to do was do a gradient without alpha or with constant alpha. That said, another option that might work around this problem would be to use two gradients on top of each other, one with a solid color (changing only alpha) and the other with only a color change at constant alpha. I'm not sure if the effect could be replicated that way, though. That said, I'm not sure why the effect used in tab-modal prompts can't be done with a gradient whose alpha is constant across the gradient (changing only color).
