From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.2.17-21mdk i586; en-US; 0.6) Gecko/20001205 BuildID: ALL Geckos can't stick to windows, only they do. For a long time, as with bumblebee flight, nobody knew how they did it. It turns out that on a smooth (clean) surface, a single gecko might support as much as four pounds; here's how. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Place gecko on vertical window. Actual Results: Gecko sticks to window. Expected Results: Gecko falls off window. FYI: It turns out that the gecko's foot-pads are covered with tiny hairs, each about 0.1mm long, and each of which multifurcate into 600-1000 even tinier hairs, each with a little pad on the end. These millions of little pads spread out like a soft brush on whatever surface is underfoot, and nestle in so closely that the combined van der Waals forces are more than enough to allow a gecko to not only stick but run, jump and lunge on a vertical surface such as a window. Geckos are the only creature which does this, and as with turtles and countless other lifeforms, have no known evolutionary relatives with similar features. This makes them better explorers than Explorer, and better escapers and netters than Netscape. Know now that when Gecko code gets hairy, it's absolutely essential for proper functioning of the Gecko. This is a blatant attempt to be funny, but it failed. QA assigning to doron to verify that the reporter isn't humorous.
