I've been using the Minefield's App Tabs for a little while and there's something I do almost everyday by mistake: typing a new URL in one of my App Tab and therefore loading another page there.
I end up going back to the initial page and creating a new tab for this, but I think it reveals a small UI issue about the App Tabs.
Since the App Tabs are "Pinned Tabs" e.g. places we want to keep like Gmail etc, I think it should go further and prevent the user from changing the location manually. Of course GMail itself can change the location when you use it. But greying out the URL bar and preventing the user to change it could do the trick.
The search widget behaves correctly with this respect since it creates a new tab when you use it and you are located in an App Tab.
