Laurel: I just tried with build 2000121304 (zip version) on my win98 system, and
i still got the crash. If I've got time I will try to do a nice clean new fresh
install today, maybe that helps...

Right. New information :-)
After quite some testing I found out that it only seems to happen when you reply
on a message that previously has been filtered to a mail folder (not inbox).
Replying on inbox messages works fine. Replying on any mail that has been
automatically filtered crashes mozilla.
Reproduce: create a new folder (or use an existing one which you have created
before), then create a filter to guide every message with 'test' in the subject
(for example) to go to this folder. Then send yourself a message with subject is
'test'. It should appear in this folder after some seconds. Try to reply to it,
and mozilla crashes.
I tested it with several folders (old and new ones) and filters (existing and
new ones) with different properties.
Moving the message to another folder before replying does *not* work (so moving
the filtered message to inbox still makes moz crash if you try to reply, even if
it is in inbox now). The other way around, you can reply to a message that has
not been automatically filtered, even if you move it to one of the folders where
the filtered messages come in. So it seems a filter problem...
Vincent.

Sorry, got to make it even more complex.
Forget the folder-filter story for a while, it might be incorrect.
Did a clean install, and anything went ok till I unchecked the 'send messages in
html format' checkbox in my (newly created) mail account.
Please try to verify this. Can you reply on messages if this checkbox has been
unchecked?

Can you try again with today's build (12/15)?

Just tried on win32 build 2000121404.
Seems to work fine, can reply on every message I tried till now, both in html
and in text format composing mode.
Get a crash though if I try to past some text into the composing window. Is that
referring to Blake Ross' commentary on bug 62818 and going to be fixed or hasn't
it been filed yet?

Did a quick search in bugs filed latest 3 days. Could not find anything on
pasting text into compose window. Gonna file this as new bug, just to be certain.

Tried on win98 with build 2000121804. Copy and paste text into the composing
window while sending new message, forward and reply. Did not see any crash.
Bug 62818 has been fixed and verified. I guess this is not a problem anymore.

No, I have'n seen it anymore. Probably fixed together with bug 62818.

I have checked it on today's commercial build 2000-12-19-06 again. Replying to a
message is not crashing netscape. Also based on reporter's comments marking
this bug as worksforme. If the problem reoccurs, please reopen.Thanks.
