See testcase, click on the "scrolltest" link in the testcase, to start the scrolltest.

The default Android browser shows the scroll indicators while the page is scrolling.
Perhaps Fennec should be doing the same?

I agree with you too guys, I need to do a some code re-organisation for that thought. (I would also like the form assistant to show the scrollbars when moving through fields)
