User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110125 Firefox/4.0b10pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110125 Firefox/4.0b10pre The usual tricks to fix blackness (resizing the window, minimize, scrolling) don't fix this problem, but the proper surrounding areas sometime re-appear if the viewport is scrolled. Screenshots coming in a moment. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Get latest Minefield release 2.Go to Google.ca, switch to Image Search 3.Type something in to search for 4.View result Actual Results: Areas of the window are black and content is not visible, but can be clicked on to navigate. Hovering over an image creates a grey box of the same size and does not result in the zoomed in image Expected Results: The webpage areas should not be black and the zoom functionality should work properly. A clean profile with layers.acceleration.disabled = false has the same problem. I can not create this problem with a clean profile when layers.acceleration.disabled = true Adapter Description Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family Vendor ID 8086 Device ID 2a02 Adapter RAM UnknownAdapter Drivers igxprd32 Driver Version 6.14.10.5218 Driver Date 1-13-2010 Direct2D Enabled false DirectWrite Enabled false (0.0.0.0) WebGL Renderer TransGaming Inc. -- ANGLE -- OpenGL ES 2.0 (git-devel Jan 25 2011 03:42:06) GPU Accelerated Windows 1/1 Direct3D 9

Note that the cursor icon shows I can click something, but the link preview is not in the Address bar
I've tried a bunch of other Google services and they don't seem to be suffering from this problem.

Note the black at the top of the viewport though. Both Yahoo and Bing's image search results are currently usable.

... which would seem to indicate Bug 625043 being the source.
It seems to alternate if I mouse over the images in Google News. Sometimes the side panel comes back, but then it goes away again.
One difference from the Google Image Search is that in the Google News case above I do get the link preview visible in the address bar.
Will almost certainly be fixed with the fix to bug 628658.
