630829 - For consistency, rename WORKSFORME to WORKS_FOR_ME, or IN_PROGRESS to INPROGRESS

The new status IN_PROGRESS was introduced in 4.0.

However this is not consistent with current statuses, such as WORKSFORME which also contains more than one word.

The solution would be to rename WORKSFORME to WORKS_FOR_ME, or IN_PROGRESS to INPROGRESS.

This is proposed for new bugzilla installations only, not for upgrades (as outlined in bug 486292 comment 50).a

Yeah, I value the consistency, for sure, but for now I value the simplicity and backwards-compatibility of keeping these resolutions the same across all Bugzillas. If the relative importance of that changes in the future, though, this would be something to consider.

I doubt the importance will change. Personally, keeping things working with older releases is more important than adding an underscore or two and break the charting system + all saved searches based on the resolution.

This is WONTFIX to me.

Why not renaming IN_PROGRESS to INPROGRESS then? (Instead of WORKSFORME to WORKS_FOR_ME)

What I mean, AFAIK there have been no official release with the IN_PROGRESS change bundled, only betas or RCs, right? So we can fix the inconsistency now and then you guys can create a new RFE to add underscores to all statuses that have more than one word, which would get the lower priority.

Oh, we made it IN_PROGRESS because we're changing the status names *anyway*, so while we're doing that, we might as well make it easy to read. If we change the resolution names *anyway* for some reason, we could possibly add underscores then, but I don't see the resolution names changing in the near future.

Not breaking backward compatibility is more important than consistency here. Wontfix!
