Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110204 Firefox/4.0b12pre
I run Windows 7 with the Classic theme. When being used with non-Aero themes, Firefox 4 beta and Minefield builds have a menu issue when being used on my second monitor. My primary monitor is 1920 x 1080 resolution. My secondary monitor is 1280 x 1024. Dropdown menus flicker between key inputs and show as empty (invisible) boxes with dropdown shadows applied to them.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set Windows 7 to a non-Aero theme. Basic or Classic.
2. Set Firefox 4 to full-screen on secondary monitor.
3. Begin typing in a pre-known website address in the address bar.
Actual Results:
The dropdown flickers between key inputs and shows as an empty (invisible) box with dropdown shadows applied to it.
Expected Results:
A working and fully visible dropdown menu.

Is your Issue reproducible when you disable the Hardware Acceleration via "Options"/"Advanced"/Tab: "General" and restart Firefox?
If yes, please post you Graphics Information you can get via about:support resp. "Help"/"Troubleshooting Information" after you reenabled Hardware Acceleration.
Works fine for me.
Works even after disabling the Hardware Acceleration
Please try if it works fine by creating a new profile.

Same as bug 603793?

Do we need to expand the special case from that bug to cover more cases maybe?

Latest driver update (8.821 -> 8.831.2) didn't make a difference.

I had a similar issue with the menus in Firefox 4.0 on Windows 7. The menus would be mostly invisible, but would occasionally flicker as you tried to mouse over them. Disabling the hardware acceleration did fix it.

Same issue with me, Windows 7, 64, works fine in Aero mode, turn off Aero mode and URL suggestions, main Firefox menu, NoScript menu, right-click menu etc. all flicker. Rate of flicker appears directly related to mouse movement.
Only occurs when Firefox is located on the second monitor (full screen is not relevant).
Seems to work OK if Firefox is started when in Aero mode and then Aero is turned off, but if started after Aero mode is off then the problem occurs.
Google '"Firefox 4" menu flicker' for other reports. Common "solution" is to turn off hardware acceleration.
If I move the window partially onto the primary (left) monitor, enough so the NoScript icon (which is to the left of the URL entry area) is on the primary monitor, then the flickering stops even for menus on the right hand monitor.

Same for me as in comment 8 , except I have FF 12 and my secondary monitor is the left one. (the problem is on the secondary monitor.)
The most flickering I see in the URL bar menu, when I enter a part of an url and try to navigate in the drop down menu with the cursor keys (no mouse movement).
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Classic theme.
Turning HW Accel off in FF preferences makes the problem go away, so does running FF in safe mode.
