User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101206 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Firefox/3.6.13 Build Identifier: http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.6.13&os=linux&lang=en-US Shortly after opening a fresh install of Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Windows 7 crashes with a "bad_pool_header" BSOD. This occurs only when running Firefox, and not in the course of other use. Reboots and re-installation of FF have not helped. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Firefox 3.6.13 2. Start Firefox 3. Wait about 1 minute Actual Results: Windows crashes. Expected Results: Not crashed Windows.
Erm, the Build ID I gave was incorrect. It should be the latest Windows version, 3.6.13 as available Feb. 11, 2011.
A BSOD can only be caused by an installed driver or the kernel itself and not by a usermode application like Firefox. Firefox can only trigger such a bug in those components of the system. It also means that it can only be fixed in the driver and not in Firefox. Microsoft provides some analysis tools to find the reason for a BSOD, you could try that. You can also try to update your graphic card driver as first guess. I have to mark this report invalid because it's not our bug and can not be fixed by us.
