As for menu bar pref ui.submenuDelay, I think it's useful to have a pref for Firefox Button.

I'm not convinced that pref does anything, at least on win7 x64. I have it set to 10000 (10 secs) and its almost immediate when opening submenu from the Firefox Button.

OH, it does work from the 'Menu' if you un-hide it - but as stated, does not have any affect on the 'button'.

For laptop PC, I want to the delay is 10000000000 because positioning of the pointing device is unstable.
For Desk top PC, I think 600-800msec is suitable.

I think it should just behave like windows 7 start menu myself, the delay in Windows 7 feels much better for start menu flyouts.

I'm not suggesting different values for different platforms. I'm suggesting a pref that can be manually changed by the user.

The Firefox button is going to be removed in bug 863753.
