Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b10) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110114 Thunderbird/3.3a2

I use an ERP called Sapiens, produced by Senior Systems. In this system there is a button where you can send reports via e-mail. However, it does not work with Thunderbird. MAPI Error code 2 is reported.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click send e-mail on the application
Actual Results:
MAPI Error Code 2

Expected Results:
Compose window of Thunderbird e-mail open
> Build Identifier: (snip) Thunderbird/3.3a2

Does it mean Tb trunk only issue on Win7? (no problem with Tb 3.1, Tb 3.0, Tb 2.0 etc. on Win7?)
If no, same problem as bug 546889? (can be called Win7's bug)
If problem with some Tb versions only, it may be relevant to bug 618678.
Do you have other email client installed (ie Microsoft one ) ?

On another machine with Windows 7, Thunderbird 3.1.4, same problem. Actually in my entire organization, with 7 or Windows Vista and multiple versions of Thunderbird, the same error occurs.

What was reported in bug 546889 seems to be the same problem. I tried to send an email by PDF Creator and even Thunderbird started.

As bug 618678, I tried to send email through Windows Explorer, but nothing happened. No error was reported.
I checked the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Mozilla Thunderbird and the value DLLPath C:\Program Files\Miramar\mozMapi32_InUse.dll. Thunderbird starts, but the composition window email is not opened.

I had just installed Thunderbird. Later I installed Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 to test and it worked.
Delton, , can you reproduce this with newer versions?

so this is a duplicate?
I tested with Windows 7 SP1 and Thunderbird 10.0.2 only a machine and it worked. I will perform the same test on other machines.
In another machine, Windows Vista SP2, Thunderbird 10.0.2 the error persists.
Removing myslef on all the bugs I'm cced on. Please NI me if you need something on MailNews Core bugs from me.
