No update notification from Beta 4 to Beta 5 on Android

Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Linux armv71; rv2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110217 Firefox/4.0b12pre Fennec/4.0b (beta 5 candidate 3)
Device: Droid 2
OS: Android 2.2
1. download previous beta build
2. install that build
3. do some web browsing
4. go to about:config
5. set app.update.enabled to true
6. set app.update.interval to 120
7. set app.update.timer to 12000
8. add a new "string" type: app.partner.test = test
9. stop and restart fennec
10. wait about 4 minutes.
Expected: System Notification that states that there is an update
Actual : no notification
Note:
1. about:firefox button is not showing any updates either (known issue)

In the last mobile meeting it was mentioned that updates are controlled through the Android Market. The Mozilla updater is not used for release builds. I don't know if there is a way for us to test Android Market updates.

Stuart & Brad, is there a way to test the update process on the marketplace before its released out?

There is no reason to expect an update from beta 4 to beta 5 candidate builds.

no, not that I'm aware of anyway
