User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101123 SeaMonkey/2.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101123 SeaMonkey/2.0.11 CNN pages cannot be saved anymore completely with Seamonkey. Example pages are www.cnn.com, in my case edition.cnn.com, but also e.g. the page http://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/tag/dr-sanjay-gupta-cnn-chief-medical-correspondent/. Seamonkey breaks off at a certain point, giving several errors, sometimes giving a runtime error and crashing totally. I remember that years earlier CNN pages could not be completely saved either by Seamonkey. MIE saves the complete pages correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. surf to the page 2. choose File <- Save page as... 3. choose a location to save 4. choose Web page, complete 5. press Save

Same results in Safe mode. If you cancelled the blockings, does that mean you can save the edition.cnn.com page completely? Please state.
I can save everything except the search engine GIF file (which I assume is a missing file on the server)
My Seamonbkey 2.0.11 gives six error messages right after and over each other that six gif-files cannot be saved. The html-file is not saved either. My MIE does not give any error message. Can you check the number of error boxes with your Seamonkey and whether you can save everything with your MIE?
I only get one error box. only one gif file cannot be saved. The html file is saved plus all the other files. Your problem might be due to your firewall (your router probably also has a firewall) or anti-virus software. Also do you have some ad blocking software installed?
Strange that in your case only one file is not saved and the HTML-file is saved. I checked with another friend here in Holland, also running Seamonkey 2.0.11 and Windows XP NL. With him several files did not save either, so the bug can be confirmed. I have a standard ADSL modem connected to an ADSL telephone line. Windows XP is up to date, the standard WinXP firewall is on and AVG 11 free is the anti-virus and anti-spyware program, which is up to date. No extra programs to make things safe. Looking at the contents of the CNN-page with View, Page Info, Media tab it appears that the http://ads.cnn.com/....... items consist of very long addresses and thus cooresponding filenames to be saved. Checking in that tab the box Block Images from ads.cnn.com, clearing private data (except passwords and sessions), reloading the page with ctrl-R (capital R, also images) and then saving lets the CNN-page be normally saved. So the problem is in the ads.cnn.com gif's. Are the long addresses the cause? MIE works alright, as a browser should. Is it an error in Seamonkey/Mozilla? Perhaps in your area you got different ads?
Summary: CNN pages cannot be saved anymore completely with Seamonkey → CNN pages cannot be saved anymore with Seamonkey
Summary: CNN pages cannot be saved anymore with Seamonkey → International CNN pages cannot be saved with Seamonkey
On SeaMonkey 2.1b3pre and Minefield 4.0b13pre I get: "/Users/mozilla/Downloads/Dr. Sanjay Gupta – CNN Chief Medical Correspondent – The Chart - CNN.com Blogs_files/search-icon.gif could not be saved, because the source file could not be read." Error console says: Błąd: cnnad_createAd is not defined Plik źródłowy: http://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/tag/dr-sanjay-gupta-cnn-chief-medical-correspondent/ Wiersz: 1501 Błąd: st_go is not defined Plik źródłowy: http://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/tag/dr-sanjay-gupta-cnn-chief-medical-correspondent/ Wiersz: 1935 wordpress.com : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 Tried it also with a VPN from the Netherlands: beside not saving the GIF, everything seems to work... I bet this bug is a Plugin or Antivirus thing...
Not blocking a release of 2.1 on what seems to work for most people on that version, reporter could you check if you get the same problem on latest betas of SeaMonkey 2.1 and Firefox 4.0?

Problem is solved. MIE saves the edition.cnn.com page only completely as mht file. If one specifies in MIE to save the edition.cnn.com page completely as HTML (with folder for images) the MIE says also Not possible to save page and does not save anything. So it is a CNN problem for having some ad-gifs missing on their edition.cnn.com page. Their us.cnn.com page saves alright in any browser. I'll mail CNN.
