Only when I pull mouse up. Thet it works. But I found that I don´t have turn on AUTO HIDE THE TASKBAR (in Windows XP) it works normaly. But when I turn it up it doesn´t scroll. Reproducible: Always
I don't see why this report is security sensitive. Lukáš, is it ok if I make it public so that others can see it?

Could you see if the issue occurs... - With a new, empty profile: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_make-a-new-profile - Using the latest nightly: http://nightly.mozilla.org/
Version: unspecified → Trunk
Steps to Reproduce 1.Hide the Windows Taskbar 2.Select some text and keep the left mouse button pressed 3.Drag down, on the bottom of the screen Expected Results: 3.The page scrools, selecting more text Actual Results: 3.The page does not scroll This happens since Fx4b7, when the status bar was removed. In Fx4b12 this is reproducible, but if you turn on the Addon Bar this works fine.

Thenx Alex. I try to turn on Addon Bar and it works. But I have netbook. There is vary small screen so I turn Add Bar and other things OFF. I hope that it will work later. :)

Confirmed with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12pre ID:20110222191848 Note: This only occurs when the window is maximised. Clarified STR: 1) Set windows taskbar to autohide 2) Maximise Firefox window 3) Make sure the addon bar is not shown 4) Navigate to page containing enough text content that the vertical scrollbar appears (eg the Minefield first run page works just fine for this) 5) Click and drag from the start of the page text, downwards, in order to highlight the text for the entire page Expected: - Page scrolls whilst highlighting. - Possible to highlight the whole page, including the areas that were initially off-screen. Actual: - Page does not scroll. - Isn't possible to highlight the text on the whole page; just what was visible on-screen initially. Workaround: - Unhide taskbar (not ideal for people who prefer to have it hidden) - Don't maximise the Firefox window (again, not ideal) - Show the addon bar Last good nightly: 2010-09-22 First bad nightly: 2010-09-23 Pushlog: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=198709160138&tochange=eec9a82ad740 Likely cause: Dietrich Ayala — Bug 574688 - replace the status bar with the addon bar (r=mano, a=blocking-beta7) http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/eec9a82ad740 Not sure what component best, please move as necessary.

Summary: Doesn´t scroll down when I mark text. → Page no longer scrolls whilst highlighting text, if taskbar hidden and window maximised
Annoying, do not like it, but doesn't block. Marking .x per bsmedberg's request.

(Happens on mac, too -- if your mouse can't go below the window, we don't scroll. Used to work implicitly because of status bar).
OS: Windows XP → All

I'm having the same problem on Ubuntu 11.04 with Unity, only when the window is maximized.
I've installed the latest Firefox 4.0.1 and the bug is still there. A (new?) hint: I'm running Windows XP with the latest updates and apparently, after discussing with a friend, the bug is not visible on Windows 7... Hope this helps! Thanks in advance.
Duping forward to bug 644621 because that has a patch.
