The design for the new landing page is almost done (see Design section in wiki for not-quite-finished designs) so I'm opening a bug to track coding the page. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla.org/Contribute/Get_Involved_Evolved/Landing_Page We expect to have final designs by end of this week or early next week. We'd like to have the page coded by the end of March.
Mike, I just received the final design assets from Monique (the psd is too large to attach to this bug). A mockup of it is at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla.org/Contribute/Get_Involved_Evolved/Landing_Page#Design For next steps, can we set up a hand off call with Craig early next week so I can walk him through things?

Craig, I just tried emailing the psd for this page to you. If it didn't get to you, let me know and I'll try transferring it another way. If you have a few minutes, I'm happy to walk through this. The page is pretty straight-forward but there are a few subtle things that are worth talking about.
r84465 committed to staging branch and viewable at http://www-stage.mozilla.org/contribute/. If all checks out we can move it to production. I may have a few more tweaks of my own as well (still need to check IE6 and I just spotted a minor problem in Opera).
Craig, thanks for turning this around so quickly. I've emailed Mary and Monique for feedback so we'll see what they say. My feedback so far is: * The header font looks a little big. Maybe it makes sense to use the same font size as the header on other main pages, like mozilla.org/about or mozilla.org/projects? * The button in the Get In Touch form should be 'Submit' instead of 'Sign Me Up' since people aren't signing up for anything. (I had missed that in the mockups.) * There seems to be more margin between the photos, the line about ways to get involved right now and the promos in the coded version compared to the design. It would be good to tighten that since I want to make sure we're not pushing the promos too far down the page. * We need better promo copy for the promo with the cake background. Mary are you ready to add a promo about the upcoming Firefox parties? If not, maybe we just go with the dino head promo background instead of the cake background for now?
More feedback from the designer: • There is a lot of space between the top “Learn more” and the fading images. That should be tightened up. • Can we align the caption with the credits in the blue area on the photos? • There is some weird dithering on the corners of the promos. Can we fix? • Regarding the fade, can we tweak the fades so there is less white space appearing between images?

Craig, one thing I just noticed -- is it possible to have the whole promo box clickable instead of just the learn more link?
